Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

Teacher Education and Learning Journal (TELJ)

This statement clarifies the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process of TELJ, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

TELJ is committed to maintaining academic integrity, publication transparency, and responsible scholarly communication in teacher education, pedagogy, and learning studies.

Section A: Publication and Authorship

  • All manuscripts undergo editorial screening and double-blind peer review.
  • At least three independent reviewers evaluate eligible submissions.
  • Evaluation covers originality, relevance, methodology, contribution, clarity, and suitability to the journal scope.
  • Possible decisions: Accepted, Minor Revision, Major Revision, Resubmission, or Rejected.
  • TELJ prohibits plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, copyright infringement, and related misconduct.
  • Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is not permitted.

Section B: Authors' Responsibilities

  • Submit original and unpublished work.
  • Avoid simultaneous submission elsewhere.
  • Respond to reviewer comments honestly and promptly.
  • Ensure all listed authors made significant contributions.
  • Present authentic and ethically obtained data.
  • Acknowledge all references, funding, and contributions.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest.
  • Report significant errors discovered after publication.

Section C: Reviewers' Responsibilities

  • Treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
  • Provide objective, fair, and constructive reviews.
  • Support editorial decisions through evidence-based recommendations.
  • Identify relevant literature not cited by authors.
  • Report suspected plagiarism or ethical concerns.
  • Decline reviews when conflicts of interest exist.

Section D: Editors' Responsibilities

  • Make editorial decisions fairly and independently.
  • Assess manuscripts based on academic merit only.
  • Maintain confidentiality of authors and reviewers.
  • Protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
  • Issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary.
  • Manage conflicts of interest appropriately.

Section E: Publisher's Responsibilities

  • Support editorial independence and integrity.
  • Prevent commercial or political influence on editorial decisions.
  • Maintain long-term preservation of published content.
  • Support ethical investigations, corrections, and retractions.
  • Protect the interests of authors, reviewers, readers, and the scholarly community.

Section F: Publication Misconduct

TELJ strictly prohibits:

  • Plagiarism and self-plagiarism
  • Duplicate submission and redundant publication
  • Data fabrication and falsification
  • Citation manipulation
  • Authorship manipulation
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest
  • Unethical use of generative AI
  • Peer review manipulation

Confirmed misconduct may result in manuscript rejection, withdrawal, correction, retraction, institutional notification, or other actions deemed appropriate by the editorial board.

TELJ adheres to the principles of academic integrity, ethical publishing, transparency, and responsible scholarly communication.
